BA Dance UC Irvine

ABT® NTC Fellow, certified in Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Mrs. Bernstein began dancing at the age of nine in California.  Throughout her training she won national titles, scholarships, and special awards.  She has studied with many sought-after teachers  including David Allen, Diane  Diefenderfer and Jason Myher of the University of California, Irvine, Victoria Koenig and Kevin Meyers of Inland Pacific Ballet, Lawrence Rosenburg of Anaheim Ballet, and Carol Tong Fipps of Dance RAW, to name a few.  While studying at the University of California, Irvine, where she earned a degree in Dance, Mrs. Bernstein became an advocate for bringing dance into the inner-city schools. Toward this end, she was awarded scholarships and grants that allowed her program to reach more students.

Upon graduating from college, Mrs. Bernstein danced professionally as a soloist and demi-soloist with Anaheim Ballet, Los Angeles Opera, and Opera Pacific. Since moving to New Jersey, she has been teaching locally. Mrs. Bernstein has won many choreography awards. Her students continue to win high awards at competitions, and have gotten into programs with American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Bolshoi, The Joffrey, Gelsey Kirkland Ballet, Complexions Ballet, School at Steps, Broadway Dance Center, and many more.

Mrs. Bernstein is excited for this phase of her life as Artistic Director/owner of DTNJ while raising her three children in New Jersey, and proudly watching her husband perform at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
